How to clip Twitch streams without knowing how to edit
Paste the Twitch VOD link into Clipscrybe; it finds the best moments, cuts them straight from the stream, adds captions and a vertical crop, and gives you clips to download without you opening an editor.
Why editing is the part that stops people
Most streamers know which moments were good. The problem is what comes after: downloading a four-hour VOD, scrubbing through it, cropping gameplay to vertical, typing captions, exporting. That's why so many Twitch channels have no clips at all, or a clip channel that stopped three months ago.
You don't need to learn Premiere or CapCut to fix this. You need the boring parts done for you so the only decisions left are “this one or that one” and “which caption style”.
Step by step
Find the VOD link
On Twitch, open your channel, go to Videos and open the past broadcast. Copy the address from the browser bar. It looks like
twitch.tv/videos/123456789. Clip links (clips.twitch.tv/...) work too. A live stream can be clipped once Twitch has saved the broadcast.Paste it
Go to clipscrybe.com and paste the link. You don't download the VOD. Clipscrybe listens to the stream's audio and only cuts the seconds it needs when you make a clip.
Pick the moments you want
Free gives you your best clips. On Pro, choose how many (up to 15), how long, and what they should be about: “the funniest bits”, “the rage moments”, “the chat interactions”. Each clip comes with a score and a reason.
Mark the facecam once
In the studio, draw a box around your facecam. Every clip then puts you on top and the gameplay below, in 9:16. If you stream without a camera, skip this and the crop follows the action.
Choose captions and download
Pick a caption style (Pop and Karaoke suit gaming; Clean is calmer), add a hook, download. Then post with the suggested caption for TikTok, Shorts or Reels.
What “no editing” covers
- Captions. Word-by-word, in six styles. Spelling follows the transcript, so check names of games and people.
- Cuts and zooms. Auto edit removes pauses and filler, adds jump cuts and punch-in zooms. Turn it off if you prefer the raw moment.
- The crop. Face-tracking keeps you in frame. The facecam box keeps your reaction and the game both visible.
- The words around the clip. Hook lines and posting captions are written for you. Edit them; they're a start, not a rule.
What you still have to do
Watch each clip once before posting. The picker is good at finding reactions and complete thoughts, but it can't know an inside joke with your chat or that you don't want a moment posted. Thumbs down a clip you'd never use and the picker learns from it. Swap a clip for a different moment if it got the timing slightly off, or move the cut points in the manual editor.
If the stream was long and you clip every week, look at the monthly hours on each plan. Free is 2 hours of video a month with a 30-minute limit per video, which suits testing rather than full VODs. Pro is 15 hours a month with no limit per video; Premium Plus is 30. Extra hours can be bought as tokens that never expire.
Questions
Do I have to download the VOD?
No. Paste the link. Clipscrybe listens to the stream and cuts each clip from it when you make the clip.
Does it work on a stream that's still live?
Not until Twitch has saved the broadcast. Once the VOD exists, paste its link. Make sure VOD saving is turned on in your Twitch settings.
Can it clip someone else's stream?
Only if you have the right to use their video. Clipscrybe is for your own streams and content you have permission for.
Does it work for Kick too?
Yes, the same way. See how to turn a Kick stream into clips.
